Sequoias Launch

Sequoias opened in the Lonehill Shopping Centre, Upper level, Lonehill on Friday 26th May. Christian Delpech and Toby Ellis flew out from Las Vegas for the launch.

Ellis and Delpech are considered to be two of the best 'mixologists' and cocktail flairers in the world today and have been brought to South Africa specifically to help design Sequoias' bar and cocktail menu and train its barmen in flair, mixology and technical bartending.

Ellis has created many of his own cocktails, such as the "Tangerine Mojave" and "After Eight Martini", which have won awards including "Best Drink" on America's hugely popular television show, Food Network. He has also created designer cocktails for the likes of Jackie Chan, Caesars Palace, The New York Yankees, Pamela Anderson, Chris Rock and Aerosmith, to name a few.

Delpech is from Argentina and has been labeled by the industry as the best flair bartender in the world, with a staggering 15 World Championship Titles under his belt.

The premium audio system chosen was installed by Surgesound, who handled the marketing and publicity for the event as an added-value service for the owner of Sequoias.
