In line with Absa's continuous efforts to become a world class organisation by attracting and retaining talented staff, the Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Nikki Mbengashe as Absa Business Bank's (ABB) General Manager, primarily responsible for a portfolio focusing on large business development in the Western Cape region.
Mbengashe, who joined the Group effectively from 1 May 2010, brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. As a qualified Industrial Engineer with an MBA from UCT Graduate School of Business majoring in Financial Management, Advanced Leadership and New Ventures, she has the qualifications to steer ABB Large Business Western Cape to even greater heights.
Other notable career achievements include having previously held the position of Business Unit Executive at Transnet Port Terminal, a division of the Transnet Group, where she was instrumental in turning around a loss making terminal within a period of 12 short months.
She was also proactively involved in the launch of the biggest efficiency improvement project for the Durban Container Terminal, Southern Africa's largest container terminal, producing cost savings of over R5 million per annum.
